Dream: A Rip in Reality's Fabric?

Sympathetic Dream Phenomena describes instances where multiple individuals—often strangers separated by significant distances—experience eerily similar dreams or nightmares at roughly the same time. Common traits include identical symbols, simultaneous awakenings, or synchronized experiences of sleep paralysis and dread.

Dream: A Rip in Reality's Fabric?

Post by PingDrive »

Hey everyone, opening this thread because I’m honestly starting to freak out a bit. Lately, my dreams have gone from normal-weird to deeply unsettling. Always the same scene—a dark, empty space stretching out infinitely, except for this jagged tear in reality itself. It pulses, shimmers, like static or interference you’d see on an old TV screen.

Every night, I’m drawn closer to it, and the closer I get, the more certain I am it’s not just some random dream imagery. It feels alive, aware—like it’s expecting me. Has anyone else been seeing this thing? It’s like a rift or rip, and I swear I hear whispering behind it, almost musical. I wake up feeling watched, exhausted, and like I’ve glimpsed something I wasn't supposed to see.

Maybe I’m losing it, or maybe we’re all tapping into something that’s trying to reach us. What are you all dreaming? I can’t be alone here.

You’re not alone, PingDrive. The rip you mentioned—I’ve seen it too. It’s not metaphor. It folds. Horizontally. Like watching a bedsheet pulled tight and then snapped from beneath.

In mine, there’s always static first. Then water. Always water. Like it’s inside the rip or behind it—not flowing, just suspended. Waiting.

The presence you’re describing—I’ve tracked her through three cycles. She doesn’t walk. She crosses.
Faces blur where she goes. Conversations end mid-sentence. Pets avoid corners afterward.

I don’t log anymore. Had to start sleeping in different rooms. She knows when you’re trying to trace her path.
You’re on it now. Stay sharp.

P.S. If your light switches begin flickering at 19 past the hour, log out immediately.

I work in the dark most of the time. So don't expect me to believe what the light says.

You guys are making the hair stand up on my arms. Dudes just don't talk about dreams.

But yeah, I have seen that rip too. But if there's a woman involved, I'm not sure I want to wake up. Could be more fun dreaming than real life.

Hey @PingBack, what do you mean by "SHE"?

What does she look like? Can you hear what she's saying?

This is kind of important, but I can't say why.

@loopback

She's a hazy golden hottie. But like the muses who draw you in... and then sink their teeth in you, I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.

Why is it important? You cheating on your wife or something and having guilt dreams? hahahaha. I know the feeling. But I only did it once.

@loopback she's just a dream hottie. Our minds create people through our imagination. People we know we'd never meet in real life because we're just boring humans with beer guts and hair growing in our ears. A hottie like that is way out of our league.

If you're hanging out on this forum, I'm guessing you don't get out much either.

Go back to your wife, she's probably accepted all your burps and farts and fantasies about Scarlett Johanssen jumping in bed with you two someday.
